    Organizing Under the Bathroom Sink

I've been in the middle of reorganizing the whole house since my mom sold her house and left me with a bunch of her stuff.

I haven't started on the bathroom, but this awesome article caught my attention.  Lots of great tips for the time I start in that room.

    No-Sew Zipper Case

I'm always searching for recycling projects for items usually tossed out.  We have an abundance of soda and water bottles, so I can keep myself busy for quite a while!

You can customize them for specific items by varying the size.  How clever!!

I can surely put these to good use for organizing my collection of makeup and makeup brushes.  Would also be useful for organization in the office.

Thank you to Ashley from Make It & Love It for an awesome idea!

    Grocery Store Bag Storage

Love this recycled tin can painted to hold grocery bags!

Grocery bags can get so out of control and I really hate throwing them away since they will definitely get used.  There are several methods I already use to keep them under control.

They stuff nicely into toilet paper or paper towel rolls.  Easy to store too!

Turn your fabric scraps into drawstring bags.  One large sized bag will hold lots of grocery bags!

The painted can is of interest to me since I love those coordinated painted projects.

Bonnie Donahue has lots of other tips for under-the-sink storage and organization.  Click here for the original post with instructions for making the painted can.

    Spice Storage Solution

I've found solutions to our spice storage dilemma and guess what . . . the spices are still disorganized in a large box, making it a nightmare when looking for a particular spice.  Not good for cooks who love to cook spicy foods.

They are actually pencil drawer holders and can be found here or they can probably be found at the dollar store.  I like how they fit in a small space.  Perfect for spices!

DIY Storage Ottoman Inspiration and Tutorial

What a clever idea!  Monica was inspired by another DIY blogger to make a storage ottoman made of crates and added her creative touches to the project.  This awesome ottoman is the result.  I'm impressed and I want one!

I can imagine this cute storage ottoman on wheels in my living room with extra seating and little nooks and crannies for those things you like to have handy, but out of the way.  Love it!

Thank you Monica for this awesome project and a very lovely blog!  I have added a button linking to her blog in my Favorites DIY/Crafty Blogs page for future reference.

    Organizing Your Home

Honestly, I really envy organized people.  Since I was a little girl, it is my inclination to stack things and worry about getting them organized later.  Yes, I'm a classic procrastinator.

That desk is what caught my attention.  I love the cubbyholes and extra shelf to get more stuff organized in a small space.

If only I had a magic wand to wave around and get everything organized!

    Denim organizer

    What an awesome concept!

This denim organizer was originally made to organize belts,
but I'm thinking of all types of ideas, like a lingerie or
     jewelry organizer.

The pockets can be designed using the denim waistband part
that has the button closure or secure a specially designed
     denim flap with velcro.

How about using denim pockets for
     the various sections?

    So many ideas!

Roll it up and store in your luggage for organizing all
those little things you take on a trip.

    Organize your spices

Do you love stocking lots of spices,
but lack the space to organize
    all those little bottles?

We are in the process of reorganizing our kitchen and organizing all the spices has proven to be quite a challenge since we both love to cook and have collected quite a spice collection.  In the past, I have organized spices on little wire racks that attach to the inside of cabinet doors . . . but I have been looking for new ways to organize them.

I've featured many glass jar projects that would work perfectly with either one of these two spice storage solutions to color coordinate, ending up with an organization solution that also accessorizes the kitchen.

Click here for my glass jar project posts from the past.

I've seen different variations of the above storage solution, but I like that this one features a rack.  How cute is that?  Click here for the tutorial.

I love these little wall boxes . . . they serve as a storage solution as well as accessorize the kitchen.  Actually, this is a great storage solution for any room!

Both of these projects come from the website Fresh Home Ideas . . . one of my favorites!

    Hanging Jewelry Holder

One of the best purchases I ever made was a hanging jewelry holder like this one . . . except for the fact that you can make the pockets the exact size for your needs.  Not only do I use mine for jewelry, but it also holds my hair accessories.

What I love about this jewelry holder is that it is stored behind my bedroom door and all my jewelry and hair accessories stay clean.

I can't remember how much the one I bought cost, but it was not cheap.  You can easily make this out of fabric scraps in your stash!

    Get organized with cigar boxes

Now I know what to do with the stacks of festive
cigar boxes I have been saving for a special project!

I also have boxes and boxes of jewelry findings that
desperately need organizing.  Here is my solution!

    The science of organizing clutter

The cold weather is getting on my nerves!

I'm in Florida . . . it is not supposed to be cold!

We should be warming up by Friday :)

In the meantime, it has been a time of working on all those things I have been putting off since I am finally starting to get rid of this cold that took all my energy.  I'm revisiting the idea of joining up with the Fly Girls again . . . you know, they teach you how to organize your life and put you on somewhat of a schedule to get your housework and clutter under control.  They were starting to help me the last time I tried, but OMG they sent so much emails that I got overwhelmed and quit.

Niecy Nash and the "Clean House" crew would have a really good time with my house.  I can see it now, Niecy with a huge red flower in her hair waving her perfectly manicured finger at me . . . "you should be ashamed of yourself girl . . . how did you let this happen? . . . hmmmmmm?"

Well, clutter just happens if you don't control it effectively.  Moving a pile of stuff from one room to another doesn't help.  It just takes an organized mess, jumbles it up with another mess and then you can't find anything.  We did that . . . took boxes from several rooms into another.  Since two of us were moving the stuff around, I lost track of some of the stuff!

Isn't it funny how cluttered piles end up like an archeological dig or a time capsule of a phase in your life?  One of the hardest things for me to control is paper.  As I gather up and sort everything out, I am finding remnants of the attempt to organize.

This time I mean to finally get organized!  Once organized, it is easy to stay that way if everything has its place.  It is getting the stuff into their place . . . aye!!

I'm starting a page for my website on getting organized . . . in an attempt to organize myself :)  I'd love some feedback on how you managed to get your house organized, links to blogs devoted to getting organized like the Fly girls . . . or are they called the Fly Ladies?

Are you a pack rat like me or a neatnic?

I totally used the word organized too many times :)
