DIY Retro Style Headband

My mom used to make these headbands for me!  Growing up, she made just about all of my clothes, so I was always coordinated with my hair accessories too :)  I was so happy to find this tutorial . . . it brought back so many memories!

Enid at A Charming Project designed these headbands and wrote an excellent tutorial on how she made it, complete with lots of photos.  Check out her website while you are there, it is full of awesome projects!

DIY Studded Barrette

Love this studded barrette that is so unbelievably simple to make that you will want to make one in every color you love!

I've used studs in fabric embellishment, but never dreamed of using them in this way.  Very creative!

Felt Crafts

These cute little felt bookmarkers were on Pinterest with a link to a blog that is open to invited readers only. They have provided me with tons of inspiration . . . especially for hair accessories.

Here are more cute felt crafts for your crafting inspiration.  They happen to come from a website that also sells supplies for felt crafts.  Click here to go there.

Always save the scraps left over from a denim project . . . you never know when you will be inspired to use the little pieces like buttons, snaps, labels, belt loops, seams for accessories to match those other projects.  I've also seen some awesome jewelry accessories made of denim scraps . . . that blog post is coming soon!

Satin Flower Comb

I'm loving these fabric flowers
. . . so here is another one!

This one features many layers, giving it
that fluffy look.  It is also large enough
to feature a big button or brooch in
the center and of course beads as
 shown in the photo.

Love it!

PLEASE NOTE:

The following links for the tutorial no
longer work, the blog has been deleted :(

I will leave the links up just in case
the blog returns.

Gathered Fabric Flower

This gathered fabric flower is one of my favorites.

Love the embellished center!

I'm thinking of the boxes of vintage jewelry I have and
the mismatched earrings that I could use as an embellishment.

One of the things I love about this tutorial is that you don't
need a sewing machine to make this flower, it can be hand
stitched.  I still can't get to my sewing machine :)

This flower is awesome as a hair barrette, but the possibilities
are endless!  How about using it on pillows, purses, clothing
and on and on and on!

Lots of headband tutorials

Every time I need a hair accessory to match a particular outfit, it seems like I can search and search the stores and not find a thing . . . that is what I love about making my own accessories, as well as the satisfaction of creation.

Laurie at the Tip Junkie (one of my all time favorite blogs) has compiled a page of all types of headbands, complete with tutorials!

Click here for Laurie's page on headband tutorials :)

Thanks to Laurie for so much inspiration!

Stylish pony tails

The pony tail is timeless!

Fast, easy and so very stylish when adorned with hair accessories,
it is one of those hair styles that never goes away.

Hair accessories are one of those items that I will be featuring
when I reopen my online store, LaBelladiva.  Can't wait to
dust
off my sewing machine and craft area to get started creating.
