Lined Tote Bag Pattern with Instructions

"This lined tote bag pattern is the perfect tote for so many uses! It can be a library tote, a dance bag, a pool tote and more!

This tote bag pattern has a professional finish with a full lining and a flat bottom.  Even though it has a professional finish, it is simple to make!

The tote bag can really be made in a variety of fabrics from cotton to canvas. You can even use recycled denim, upholstery fabric or duck cloth. The interfacing is important – a heavier weight interfacing will allow your tote to stand up."  Comment from See Kate Sew

Love to see a lined tote bag free pattern offered!  Thank you!

How to Make a Denim Work Apron from Thrifted Jeans

"You can make this work apron out of shorts, capris, or full-length jeans–it doesn’t matter. However, you’re just going to use the “seat” portion that contains the back pockets, so buy whatever’s cheapest. I actually made three aprons altogether, one from each style, but always selecting worn examples to make the project more vintage-y. In this photo you see a pair of capris I picked up at Salvation Army when blue tags were half-off, so I paid just $2 to make this apron. Yipee!"   Comment from Adirondack Girl at Heart

Love love love!!!  So cute and useful!

How to Upcycle a Candle Jar into a Cute Pin Cushion

Photo source:  Sum of Their Stories.com

"I’m going to show you how to make a sweet pin cushion from an old glass candle jar and a small piece of fabric. My pin cushion is a double upcycle as I used an old pillow case for my fabric, but you can use any medium to lightweight fabric you happen to have.

I have a friend who uses a lot of scented candles and she always gives me the empty jars when she has finished with them. Over the years I’ve used them for all sorts of things. Once they’ve been through the dishwasher they make great water or spirit glasses and they are great for storage in the bathroom for reusable makeup remover pads or cotton buds etc. This time though I’ve got a little more creative to upcycle these sturdy glass jars into pin cushions."  Comment from Julie of Sum of Their Stories.com

Love this project that is so useful and cute!

Painted Rainbow Bridge Garden Bench

"This is a project I actually started last Fall after losing our Staffordshire Pit Bull, Shiloh. He was a rescue dog that we got from a local shelter just a few months after I lost my dad and right after we lost Buster, another rescue dog. Six weeks before we got Shiloh, I left a toxic work environment that left me emotionally bruised and battered. I was mourning my dad and Buster, and I guess God knew I needed an energy-filled, fur-covered distraction."

Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted"

Comment from Donna of Modern On Monticello

Donna touched my heart with her story about Shiloh and Buster and the rainbow bridge project dedicated to them.  I'm still grieving over the loss of my sweet furbaby Kiki and my husband, The Captain.  The feelings seem to never go away and I know they never will.

It occurs to me that a project of this type makes so much sense and she has inspired me to make some type of rainbow bridge project.  Paint on a wooden fence or a planter.

Thank you Donna for the inspiration . . . blessings, love and hugs to you and your family.  I will pray for your peace as I pray for mine too.

Denim Clutch Purse with Outer Pocket

"What a clever way to reuse denim! Since there was no link available, there was no tutorial available either. I had to just wing it.

My friend gave me these shorts from her daughter that had been stained but had really cute pockets. She thought maybe I could find something to do with them. I had been holding on to them a long while when I saw this pin and knew it would be perfect."  Comment from Pinspiration

Make a DIY Spice Rack with Dollar General

"I don’t know about you, but when cabin fever starts setting in, I start to really notice all of the disorganization around my house. It’s easy to ignore during warmer months when I am always out and about doing one thing or another, but when I find myself barely leaving the house and staring at the same piles day in and day out like I do this time of year, it starts to get to me. And this year one of the problem areas that keeps catching my attention is in the kitchen – specifically, my overflow of seasonings. So, with the help of Dollar General, I decided to put together a little DIY spice rack!"  Comment from Dollar Store Crafts

It is what I think every day, no matter the season.  But I do love that spice rack even if I need to double it.  That should not be a problem.

DIY Bandana Bowl Covers

"If you are looking for ways to reduce waste (like me), then this idea might be for you! I love using my antique stoneware bowls, but because they don’t have lids, I end up using foil or plastic wrap to cover them. So, I decided to make some reusable bowl covers for a recent Independence Day party."  Comment from Sarah at Sadie Seasongoods

Love this idea since I have a bunch of bandanas left over from my days as an online reseller and seller at flea markets.  I've been thinking about what to make with them.  Great idea!
