DIY Galaxy Soap

I'm totally mesmerized by the simmer in these handmade soaps, even though I'm not sure about using charcoal to make the soap black.  For sure I will try the commercial grade mica and mineral powders to get the simmery effect.

Love the blog Beauty Crafter, DIY Health and Beauty.  I've really gotten into making DIY soap and have a strong interest in making other health and beauty items.  Can't wait to spend lots of time exploring the blog for unusual items like this soap.

DIY Rose Petals Soap

Here is a new twist to making your own soap!

Now that I have been making our own soap for a while, I will never go back to store bought soap.  The possibilities are endless with soap recipes showing up all over the internet.

DIY Milk and Honey Soap

There is something special about bathing with homemade soap.  Melt and pour soap bases are available at craft stores and it is so easy to make your own soap.  I normally use a castile soap base, add some argon oil and also use my soap as shampoo.

I would not have thought of adding honey to a batch of soap, but it is supposed to have awesome benefits for skin.

DIY Exfoliating Loofah Soap

My latest obsession is artisan soap.  I've already tried several sellers on Etsy and still haven't found one that is fragrant enough . . . happy with everything else and will not be going back to using commercial soap.  What really made me happy was an all-in-one soap that I can also use as a shampoo.  No more frizzies!   Now I'm spoiled!

I've been wanting to try out the exfoliating loofah soaps and I've also wondered about making my own soap.  The cost for the supplies is a little more as purchasing three bars of artisan soap.  I would say it is worth a try!

I found this recipe on one of my favorite blogs, One Good Thing by Jillee, which always has practical and easy DIY projects.  Click here for the tutorial.  Check out her website for more "good things" . . . you won't be sorry!

Copy Cat Bath and Body Works Foam Soap

These foam soaps from Bath and Body Works have become a must have at every sink in the house.

You know I was so excited to find a copy cat recipe that I can make for a fraction of the cost of the BBW versions.  Now I just need to figure out how to duplicate the scent of Japanese Cherry Blossoms . . . I'm addicted to that scent!

I can't thank Crafty Allie enough for this recipe!  Click here to go to her tutorial with lots of photos.

Valentine Soap Idea

What an awesome idea for Valentine's Day!

Suzy's Artsy Craftsy Sitcom is one of my favorite crafty blogs.  She created these cute one-time use soaps in the shape of conversation hearts for Valentine's Day.  Cute and clever!

Use this technique for any occasion or holiday.  I'd love to make some in a retro flower design for every day use.  They can be color coordinated to match your decor . . . or how about matching a repeated pattern?  The possibilities are as endless as your imagination!

Homemade Loofa Slices

Can you tell that I love homemade stuff?

Ingredients

1 clean large Pringles Potato Chip can
1 loofa sponge
2-3 Glycerine soap bars, in desired colors

Directions

Cut the loofa sponge to fit to within 1/4 inch of the top of the can.

Depending upon the size of the sponge, you may be able to fill more than one can.

Chop bars of soap into coarse pieces. Melt soap in small saucepan over very low heat until melted.

Meanwhile, put the loofa into the can.

Let soap cool down, but do not let it harden.

Pour cooled, melted soap into the Pringles can.

When the soap has hardened and dried, tear away the can, then slice the loofa soap into thin slices for individual gifts or personal use.
