Spring cleaning has officially begun! 

My mom came over and we spent the day moving some stuff around and getting the kitchen a little more organized.  It's a girl thing I guess . . . my mom always helps me do this kind of stuff.  I must admit it is not my favorite thing to do.

I'm still not feeling 100% back to normal or it could be an adverse reaction to the antibiotics.  Tuesday will find me behind the computer catching up on comments, visiting blogs, doing blog hops and working on my webspaces.  Honestly, I was having withdrawals all day long being away from the computer.

Creative uniqueness

Seems like I have been sick forever, but finally . . . I'm feeling way better after giving in to having to take antibiotics and quit trying to heal myself like I normally do.  Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

The Captain and I spent the past couple of days cleaning up the yard and working toward getting the gates up in the front yard to give us more privacy.  Mounds of garbage are lined up at the street and we have much more to go.  The disadvantages of having a large property!  Lots of cleanup and maintenance.

I'm finally getting back to my normal online activity . . . and have found awesome new websites and some really cool stuff that very creative people have come up with.  The following are a few that I had to feature . . . the theme is creative uniqueness.

Faux Metal Wall Art

I have been blown away by this craft.

Unless you have seen this done somewhere else, I bet you can't guess what materials are used in these gorgeous examples of wall art.  The concept is ingenious!  I love it!!!

Sandy Elliott of Cherished Handmade Treasures has come up with a new twist to the glass jar crafting thing . . . everyone else has been repurposing glass jars by making candles . . . Sandy has made actual lights out of them!

Glass jars . . . I love them . . . I'm always looking for new and creative uses.  I really hate that the trend is for the food manufacturers to use plastic jars.  Click here for some of my past posts that feature creative uses of glass jars.

There are so many creative people out there in Bloggerville!

I'm working on another Valentine inspiration post, but it isn't quite ready yet.  Gina's Italian Kitchen's new post, Chocolate Indulgence is almost ready to go too.

However, just wanted to drop a note to let you know I haven't forgotten about you guys!  I've had to get off the computer and tend to one of the most painful toothaches I have ever had.  I can barely concentrate.

Hopefully I'll be able to get these Valentine posts done tonight . . . I have so much to share with you all!

Crafty Valentine Inspiration

Many years ago, I had the idea of using can lids of varying sizes to make wind chimes.  It was one of those projects that I never completed, but Lyndee's project reminded me of it.  How cute would a Valentine's Day themed wind chime be utilizing shades of pinks and reds with hearts mixed with some beads here and there?

If you have tin snips . . . you can trace shapes on the can lids and cut out . . . use care and finish the edges so they are not sharp enough to get a nasty cut.  Would be great for use in your jewelry creations, to decorate frames . . . the possibilities are endless!

DIY Candy Stands

What is better than indulging in the delicious treats that Valentine's Day brings us?  It is the joy of creating a pretty display to make it even more inviting!  My personal favorite is the red polka dot double decker serving plate . . . isn't it clever and cute??  I love it!

With a little imagination, you can turn dollar store or thrift store items into awesome treasures!
