Crafty notebook covers

Take some inspiration from these crafty notebook covers and recycle those fabric scraps you were saving for a special project using the instructions from the following projects.  Not only are these a great idea for notebooks, but can also be designed for your favorite book or scrapbook . . . how about a beautiful cover for your bible?

They would make very thoughtful, inexpensive gifts!

Check out this awesome journal cover from Bloom!

Becky at Patchwork Posse has designed some fun vinyl notebook covers.

This button embellished notebook cover designed by Diane Gilleland is too cute!

Petal Pillow Tutorial

I'm seeing fabric flowers everywhere!

My favorite was on a cute little clutch bag . . . the flower, made of the same material as the bag, was slightly bigger than the bag.  I plan on making one, but I didn't have a tutorial for the type of flower that was on that bag . . . the flower on this pillow comes close.  It seems easy enough to scale it down . . . we'll see!

I'm also loving these Petal Pillows . . . click here for the tutorial.

Funky Recycled Necklace

This necklace is so cool!

I will definitely try to make this as well as a bracelet and earrings to match when I get my jewelry making area set up again.

This project comes from Aubree of  Yellow Blackbird Blog who was inspired by a tutorial from Aunt Peaches.  Very cool concept using recycled plastic cups!

Here is a photo of Aunt Peaches' project:

Same concept with two distinctively different looks.

I must try this technique!

My apologies for not being around as much . . . there are not enough hours in the day for everything I have been working on, but I should be back to "normal" soon.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Unique Bathroom Shelves

This is the coolest idea I have seen for the bathroom in a really long time!
A unit like this can be picked up at a thrift store very inexpensively and painted to match your decor.  What an easy way to make a drastic change and gain a lot of storage space.  If you have a small bathroom like mine with a way too small closet, something like this would come in so handy.  I love it!
FreshHomeIdeas launched their website today . . . WOW it is fabulous!! I've gotten lost going through everything and spent way too much time letting my imagination go wild from all of their home and garden ideas. If you love DIY like I do, you will LOVE this website!

Freaky Friday!

It has been quite a week and so far, today has been a Freaky Friday!  I'm on the mend from the tooth problem, was feeling better and had to overdo things and pulled a muscle in my back.  Motrin doesn't even have an affect on me anymore!  Doesn't matter what I do, it hurts.  Needless to say, I have been taking it easy.

Like that wasn't enough, my hard drive crashed a few days ago before I even had a chance to organize my new external drive since the old one died.  What's up?  Hopefully this means it is uphill from here!  At least I have all my major graphics and music files.

However, this time I lost a ton of notes from the past month.  My blog hop stuff, awards stuff and personal financial records are gone . . . I have to recreate everything.  Also gone are blog posts that were almost done . . . what I hate most is all the software that needs to be reinstalled . . . I'm so tired of setbacks!

On the bright side, The Captain is a computer genius and has me up and running again.

My favorite music is turned up loud and the weekend is here . . . Happy Friday!

I'm gonna be taking a break to do some blog hops . . . I had a ton of new ones to add, but they were lost in the files . . . drop me a comment with the link to any new ones that I don't have listed here.  Here is a weekend list starting with Friday . . .
