I keep finding composition notebooks that The Captain kept buying since he bought more if he could not immediately find one. That is another story all together!! Point is, I have lots of them.
I have seen many crafters who like to make their version of the junk journal with these notebooks. Not everyone loves ephemera. Until recently, I'd never heard the word.
So I jumped in and bought some lovely scrapbook pages and washi tape. I love the creative artistic aspect of creating pages, so as I explore the craft, I may join in. We will see!
Anyway, as I have traveled the internet today, I stumbled upon an article on Martha Stewart's website on junk journals. OMG . . . even Martha Stewart has apparently caught the bug!
Here is the intro to the article . . .
"In a world full of fast, disposable everything, there's something undeniably satisfying about reusing tactile materials and creating something with your own two hands. Enter junk journaling. A practice that has exploded in popularity in recent years, junk journaling is a hobby that invites you to dive into the world of collage and scrapbooking—all while sustainably using materials that might otherwise end up in the trash and keeping the pressure and effort low.
Think of it as a fun and artistic form of recycling. “You take bits and pieces of everyday life, things that might be considered ‘junk,’ and transform them into something beautiful and meaningful,” explains artisan Christina Argonish.
Is this the creative hobby for you? Let’s explore."
